Basil Moftah is a general partner with Global Ventures, a Dubai-based, growth-stage venture capital firm. Previously, Basil was the President of Intellectual Property & Science (IP&S) division at Thomson Reuters. Basil repositioned IP&S as a platform business by integrating its content and technology into a single micro-services architecture. He then prepared the business for sale to Onex PE in Canada. Prior to this position, Basil managed emerging markets for Reuters, a $600M business spanning Latam, Middle East & Africa, Russia, India and China. He successfully grew the business organically and with strategic acquisitions, including buying Zawya in the Middle East. Basil started his career at Reuters in the Venture Capital group and was part of the team that took it private. A highly successful fund, it invested in Netscape, Yahoo, Verisign, Webex, and many other successful companies.

During his time in emerging markets and based in Dubai, Basil was a founding advisor for Reach Mentoring – a successful program focusing on high-potential woman executives in the Middle East. He was also a sponsor for a cross industry initiative on financial transparency with the Middle East Investor Relations Society. He was also the executive sponsor in 2014 and 2015 at Thomson Reuters for diversity in the workplace programs.

Basil holds bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from American University in Cairo as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Ali ZBEEB is an International Lawyer and MBA university lecturer, a Project Legal Expert with UN-ESCWA and Legal Consultant with UN-FAO, Senior Legal Expert with Union of Arab Banks and former IP Legal Trainer at Interpol. He is an expert in int’l banking & finance regulations & compliance, corporate & commercial laws, economic integration, financial inclusion, construction laws, project/strategic management and arbitration. He has been an international arbitrator and a university professor in law and business for 15 years.

Ali is currently Managing Partner at “Zbeeb Law & Associates” (regional law firm founded in 1980 with global affiliations in 15 countries), and Founding President of (DANALI) "Development Association for Nurturing Arab Leadership & Innovation", regional NGO. He is also on the Advisory Board of Fintech Galaxy

At the Beirut Bar Association, he is currently VP of Int’l Relations Committee, and the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorism Financing Committee, and Member of (1) Banking Affairs Committee, (2) Oil & Water Committee, (3) Artificial Intelligence Challenges Comm. In addition, he is a regular writer for prominent Arab newspapers in MENA region on economic, banking and legal matters.

Ali, who has excellent command in Arabic and English, holds a Bachelor of Law from the Lebanese University, Master in Banking & Finance Laws (LLM), Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and a PhD in Law (in Regulations of Economic Integration), from Queen Mary -Uni. of London. He is based in Beirut and rotates regularly between UK, US & UAE along his continuous travels.

Following her passions for the MicroFinance & the Online industries, and after a life-altering trek in Kilimanjaro, Genny founded Pi Slice in March 2013 and negotiated a partnership agreement with MicroWorld from the Group PlanetFinance to build and administer the first crowd-lending platform for microfinance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

This journey led to Genny founding Mind Cloud Academy, the 1st entrepreneurship academy teaching a program of 10 certified courses under KHDA, including Business Model Canvas, Design Thinking, Finance & Investment, Marketing/PR, Customer Acquisition, Sales & Operations, Legal & Governance, Mindful Leadership, Scaling Up, Pivoting. 

Founding Mind Cloud Tribe comes as a natural progression after Mind Cloud Academy. An online platform of tutorials, tools, tool-builders for the Business Plan and the Investment, along a market-place for experts and tutorials. Mind Cloud Tribe’s vision is to allow anyone, anywhere, to overcome all the barriers and challenges, be able to fulfill their dreams and step into their vision.  
Along Mind Cloud, Genny is a founding member of the EMIR Mentorship Program at London Business School. Genny is a recognized voice, and a dedicated Author and Contributor in different outlets like Entrepreneur Magazine. Genny has an M.A. in Civil Engineering, a B.S in Physics, an MBA from London Business School (UK) and Business Coaching Certificate from Universal Coach Institute.

Hany Soliman is equipped with 17 years of diversified experience in business development and strategic management serving SMEs and entrepreneurs in several countries and across different sectors; Banking, document management, telecom and more recently, fintech.

Hany used to head Commercial International Bank-Egypt Innovation & Digital Strategic Alliance department where he was responsible for building the digital business value proposition and articulating the strategy to serve the unbanked segment through mobile products and payment solutions to achieve financial inclusion. He also worked to support startups and the entrepreneurship ecosystem to complement the Innovation department’s business proposition. This led to CIB being positioned as the FinTech hub in the Egyptian market.

Throughout his career, Hany has participated in many strategic initiatives and programs as an advisor and mentor to SMEs and entrepreneurs on how to benefit from banking services and have access to finance at different stages of their lifecycle along with angel investment activities that got him deeply engaged with several startups in the market. His knowledge is backed by an ICFA from the Chartered Institution for Securities and Investment in London and an MBA from Phoenix University.

In his current role, Hany leads -MENA’s award winning fintech solution provider -PayTabs, Egyptian operations.

Hisham Farouk is the CEO of Grant Thornton UAE, a leading business adviser that helps dynamic organisations to unlock their potential for growth. Hisham has over 20 years of professional and commercial experience and possesses a strong business and leadership record and a deep understanding of the commercial landscape in the Middle East region. He is credited with being a driving force behind several private and public organization’s growth strategies, which today continue to mature under his mentorship and strategic input. He has led high profile advisory engagements for some of the largest groups and family owned businesses in the region. Hisham works closely with numerous financial institutions in the UAE, mainly advising them on regulatory and compliance matters. He has also supported many firms in dispute resolution and has acted as an expert witness on a number of arbitration cases across industry.

Hisham is a patron and avid mentor for dynamic SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses. He is a board member of a number of regional firms including Fintech Galaxy, REACH and the GCC Chapter of 30% Club and also a mentor with Endeavor and TechStars to support the start-up ecosystem and female entrepreneurs respectively.

Hisham is a graduate of Harvard Business School and holds an MBA in Finance from the American University in London. He holds a BA in Sociology from the American University in Cairo. He is registered as an Auditor with the UAE Ministry of Economy, Licensed insolvency practitioner with the UAE Ministry of Justice and Dubai International Financial Center.

Rami is a proud geek, futurist, investor, and executive advisor. He is a member of the advisory board of Fintech Galaxy. Rami is the senior vice president and chief innovation officer at Jordan Ahli Bank, also he is CEO of Ahli FinTech the 1st Bank fully owned financial technologies company and fintech accelerator in the middle east.  

Rami is a mentor at 500 Startups, Unreasonable Future, and Startupbootcamp fintech, chairman at Arcoten, Octonius.com, member of the board at Al Raed Arabi School, and member of the advisory board of Fintech Galaxy, Think Barter Network, Roybi AI Robots, and WAKE International in San Francisco.   

Rami founded his 1st startup at the age of 19, he holds an Electrical Engineering degree from University of Jordan, and completed the Venture Capital Executive Program at HAAS UC Berkeley, and “The Leading for the future”, and “The Leading, Organizing for Action” Executive Programs at Harvard Kennedy School, and the Senior Executive Education Program at UC San Diego.

Saqr Mashhor Ereiqat is a Dubai based BlockChain aficionado, leading IBM’s consulting arm, Global Business Services for the public sector & government industry in Dubai as well as the IBM Associates program for Middle East and Africa. In the past he has been establishing HealthTech Innovation Hubs and has spent the majority of his career at IBM leading complex projects across 23 Countries in Europe, Middle East & Africa; focusing 2015 to 2018 assisting clients to define their BlockChain agenda. He successfully led one of the first BlockChain Strategy Engagements for IBM's Government Industry. He has immersed himself into the Government & Healthcare industry, advising large hospital conglomerates on their strategy. In Saudi Arabia, he set up the award winning National Health Lab for Emerging Technology for the Saudi Arabian Government.

His Global and Regional experience helped him specialize in turning around complex programs and projects. Recognized by IBM to be one of eleven certified Complex Program Managers in MEA. In Dubai and Saudi Arabia he is leading the local Chapter for the Global Innovation Institute.
